Where can I Slood?

----------

While slooding can occur in real life interactions with people, most slooders tend to confine their activities to real-time internet chat environments, such as those provided by IRC (Internet Relay Chat).

In order to connect to IRC, you will need a computer and an internet connection - perferably a broadband connection so you can type as fast as all the other hot slooders.

If you don't want to install any software on your computer and you wish to start slooding right away, use the Mibbit web-based chatting interface.

Alternatively, for best performance and flexibility, use some (usually free) IRC software or clients. Slooders will typically choose these IRC clients based on the type of computer system they are using:

Microsoft Windows:

MacOS:

Linux or other UNIX variants:

Once you're set up with IRC, which network do you connect to and what channels do you visit? One valuable resouce is the channel and server resources supplied by netsplit.de which allows you to search for channels and ranks both channels and servers by the number of users. This is a must-have resource for slooders who want to slood in the biggest channels on the largest networks!

If you want to dive into slooding straight away, or you want to observe slooders going about their business, then a highly recommended slooding zone is the AustNET network. See you there for some slooding action!
